Century Furniture Company gate leg table

An exceptional, collector piece of American furniture history: a pristine 1920s expanding gateleg dining table manufactured by the renowned Century Furniture Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Celebrated during this era as the furniture capital of America, Grand Rapids pieces from Century represent the pinnacle of early 20th-century craftsmanship, engineering, and historical revival styles.

This highly versatile piece features a clever, telescoping gateleg design. It functions beautifully as a compact console or breakfast table when closed, but seamlessly extends to a full-scale banquet or dining table. Included with the table are four (4) matching expansion boards (leaves), allowing you to customize the length to comfortably seat large dinner parties.
• Provenance: Fully authenticated. The original, intact Century Furniture Company emblem/maker's mark remains securely attached to the underbelly of the table frame.
• Mechanics: The telescoping wooden slides and gatelegs operate smoothly and lock securely into place.
