Fine Furnishings Guitar Display Cabinet

One-of-a-kind handcrafted guitar display cabinet designed to showcase five guitars as fine furniture rather than hide them in a case or rack.

I designed it because there was nothing on the market that looked like the cabinet I wanted in my own home.

Unlike typical guitar racks, this piece was designed to complement a living space while safely displaying a collection of instruments.

This started as a passion project to see whether I could build something that didn’t exist. I learned a tremendous amount in the process, but I’ve decided to move on to other woodworking projects and let someone else enjoy it.

Features

* Holds 5 electric guitars or basses with approximately 5–6” of spacing between instruments.
* Handcrafted oak face frame, rear trim, and solid oak neck rest.
* Oak milled from lumber that had been air-drying in a local woodworker’s barn since the early 1980s.
* Jatoba (Brazilian Cherry) legs and interior supports with a Cabernet stain.
* Espresso-painted plywood carcass with stained Jatoba and brass side accents.
* Tempered glass doors.
* Wine-red velvet-lined interior.
* Vegetable-tanned leather on every surface that contacts the instruments.
* Warm white LED lighting above and below the guitars.
* Touchless hand-wave sensor with continuous-on capability.
* Oil polyurethane finish.

Please note: Because of the rounded-corner construction, the cabinet should be anchored to a wall after installation for stability.

This is a truly one-of-a-kind piece. I designed it because I couldn’t find anything on the market that combined furniture-grade craftsmanship with guitar storage in this style.
